Jeffrey C. Walker is an Executive in Residence at the Harvard Business School and lecturer at the Harvard Kennedy School and is focused on scaling and partnership in the non-profit world. He is also ex-Chairman and CEO of CCMP Capital (CCMP). CCMP is the $12 billion successor to JPMorgan Partners (JPMP), JPMorgan Chase & Co’s global private equity group with operations in North America, Europe and Asia. He was previously also Vice Chairman of JP Morgan Chase & Co and Chairman of the JPMorgan Chase Foundation. He is a Director of 1-800-Flowers (Nasdaq-FLWS) and Harbor Point Reinsurance. He graduated with a BS from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. He is a CPA and a CMA.
Millennium Promise – Chairman. Charity acting as an incubator for non-profit NGOs set up to support the achievement of the Millennium Development goals set by the UN. The major initiatives include the Millennium Villages (78 villages in 10 African countries which are being prototyped as sustainable development models), Malaria No More and Millennium Farms.
Harvard’s Kennedy School - Lecturer – Taught a seminar on “High Impact Change Organizations (applying private equity techniques to the not for profit world)” during the Fall of 2008 at the Center for Leadership (Master’s Students).
NPower - Ex-Chairman (chair for seven years) and Founder and still on the board, a charity that provides technology training to inner city kids and finds them jobs and also provides technology back office for over 500 non-profits.
Thomas Jefferson Foundation (Monticello) - Chairman for three years and currently Vice Chairman.
Berklee School of Music – President’s Advisory Council.
Morgan Library – on the Board and investment/endowment committee.
University of Virginia – on Campaign Executive Committee and the board of the Presidents Endowment ($50 million). President McIntire Foundation for ten years.
School Boards – was Chairman of the Wilton Public Schools in Wilton, CT. and served on the board of St. Lukes School in New Canaan, CT.
Big Apple Circus – ex-board member. A non-profit touring circus where the proceeds go to support clown care units in 35 children’s hospitals across the United States.
New York City Investment Fund – ex board member. $120 million fund focused on bringing jobs to NYC and enhancing the city through supporting education and social services.
Others – on the board of the Lincoln Center Film Society and Visiting Committee of the Harvard Business School and Co-Chair of the Quincy Jones Musiq Consortium.
Music – played bass, tuba and sousaphone for six years in junior high and high school. Was band captain. Member of jazz ensemble, wind ensemble, marching band, concert band and musical group. In business led the House of Blues and Guitar Center investments and was lead board member on these deals.
