Little Kids Rock

Little Kids Rock is a first-in-field organization dedicated to advocating for, and implementing, a fifth stream of music education—called Modern Band—in our nation’s public schools.  To enact its mission, Little Kids Rock restores music education by training any qualified teacher to create a music program in his/her school.  Little Kids Rock works strategically, in partnership with districts, to assess current capacity and to provide the required resources, including training, instruments, and curricula.  Little Kids Rock revitalizes music education through a pedagogy that is student-centered and curricula that are modern, continually updated, and available in print and online.  The program and pedagogy presently create transformative educational experiences for over 74,000 students, and their teachers, each year.
