Position: Speech Language Pathologist

How has music impacted your life?: I love music. I have written several songs and also had them registered. I am the director of two elementary school groups. One of the groups is a boys' acapella group. The other group is the school chorus. I volunteer my time to work with these groups because we do not have a music program at our school and I want to encourage our children to be productive in the arts. The students give up their lunch recess time to practice and they also give up one hour after school every week. The incentive for the choruses is to build up their self-esteem, keep our young people in school, increase positive behaviors, and increase their academics. I love working with our children, but I do not get enough support to expose our children to musical programs and field trips that could truly increase their awareness and as they continue to grow.
