How has music impacted your life?
Music has always been an important part of my life. I am currently the Director of External Affairs for the Afro Latin Jazz Alliance founded by musician, composer, educator Arturo O'Farrill and home to the GRAMMY Award winning Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra. The Afro Latin Jazz Alliance is dedicated to the performance, education and preservation of Afro Latin Jazz. Prior to that I worked for 20 years at the home for New York's Latin Music, Afro-Folkloric,Salsa, Latin Jazz-- the Harbor Conservatory, with an international faculty. Harbor Conservatory was Tito Puente's favorite school where he established the Charlie Palmieri Memorial Piano Scholarship.
