Is anyone interested in a new form of music notation that teaches music and math?

This is a new way of writing music that anyone can play.  Also, directly teaches math concepts potentially saving "music programs" by enabling "math instruction".  What do you think?See More

Numbered Notes webinar

Please join us in an online webinar describing how Numbered Notes could revolutionize music notation.  We use numbers 1-12 instead of letters with accidentals.  It has a 12 note staff so each staff is exactly the same.  Octave numbers in front of the staff tell you what range you are in. It also uses a new form of timing so that it is more logical and easier to learn and use.  Beginners can learn it in one sitting and it is great for teaching the relationships between music and math.Webinar,…See More

How has music impacted your life?
We are trying to revolutionize music notation by using numbers 1-12 instead of letters with sharps and flats. We also have changed the way timing works. Beginners can read and play music right away and advanced musicians can use the numbers to understand intervals. We would love to help kids learn music and math with Numbered Notes.
Are you teacher?
Yes, teacher of computer animation in Seattle. I am the inventor of NN my name is Jason MacCoy

Teaching Music and Math concepts with Numbered Notes music notation....help wanted!

We are currently developing a work book that helps students learn the relationship between music and math using the Numbered Notes music notation.  If anyone has any good suggestions as to activities and topics we would love to include them in the formation of the book.  For those of you unfamiliar with our notation I have included an example.  You can also learn more at: www.NumberedNotes.com…

How we are going to raise music literacy to over 90%!!!

Numbered Notes music notation has been redesigned to be easy to learn and fully functional.  That means that it can write out Mozart, Bach, Chopin and everything else.  Here is an overview of how we have tried to improve traditional notation to make it more functional and easier to learn.

We have redesigned the staves into a "12 Note Staff"

Each note is accounted for in the staff, and relates to a specific labeling of each key in sequential numeric order. … Continue

In January 2010 Dyann Arthur, independent folklorist, musicologist and Berklee College of Music alumni (BA 1980 Magna cum laude) founded MusicBox Project (“MBP”) a non-profit corporation in the state of Washington, whose mission it is to document and preserve our musical history while advancing music education and occupational avenues of creation and performance.

Our current project is a documentary film to be produced from a collection of oral histories and performances of women instrumentalists (not vocalists per se) in traditional genres of American Roots Music, especially those with familial and geographic ties to the tradition who are currently active in their musical endeavors. MBP is highlighting the stories of these women musicians, gendered discussions on education and performance, and the creative strategies these artists use in navigating challenges to making traditional music, while integrating their contributions into the twenty first century and onto the World Wide Web.
