I've been very fortunate to be involved with some successful projects through the years, including the Christopher Cross hits (keys and arranging) and Shelley Duvall's Faerie Tale Theatre (as MD). I also work in musical theatre and my shows written with Berton Averre have been seen in Los Angeles, Chicago, Wichita, and other fine cities.
I have taught and tutored sporadically during the years, and I absolutely love it. I taught basic record production at L.A.'s late lamented Grove School of Music, and I currently have had the honor of guest co-moderating at the Los Angeles School of Songwriting's Wednesday songwriters' workshop. I am slated to teach the Lyric Lab for MTEC, a new online music school launching out of New York early in 2010.
My wife Beth founded the Rising Star Children's Musical Theatre Workshop, of which I am also delighted to be a part, wearing the varying hats of music director, sound guy, joke puncher-upper, and, most importantly, snack consultant for kids ages 8 to 18. Rising Star has been one of the most satisfying experiences of my life.
I am a singer-songwriter, and also play in hit writer Jack Tempchin's band. I have recently completed all the lyrics for my old friend Christopher Cross' new album to be released in February 2010.
I am delighted to be a part of this consortium!
